Dr. Safder grew up in Johnson County and attended Blue Valley West High School. He went on to attend the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) where he triple majored in Biology, Chemistry, and Spanish. He decided to stay in the KC area and continued his education at UMKC School of Dentistry. In pursuing specialized training in endodontics, Dr. Safder completed his endodontic residency in Houston, Texas at the renowned University of Texas Health Science Center where he was awarded a Masters of Science in Dentistry and Certificate in Endodontics. Following the completion of his residency, Dr. Safder returned to his hometown to establish his own practice. This decision reflects his desire to give back to the community that played a significant role in shaping his life. As a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, Dr. Safder has successfully completed a rigorous examination process, demonstrating his expertise and knowledge. He is also one of only five endodontists in the state of Kansas to achieve this prestigious certification.

Dr.Safder has always believed in serving as a leader in his community and in his profession. While in dental school, he served as the director of the university affiliated free health clinic where he led and expanded their efforts in providing free dental care to an underserved population. In recognition of his efforts, he was the recipient of the American Association of Public Health Dentistry Award. Additionally, Dr. Safder was one of only ten dental students aross the country to receive an award from the National Institute of Health to conduct an independent research study in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Safder’s passion for research motivates him to stay current with the latest medical advancements, ensuring that he can offer his patients the most cutting-edge and effective care available through modern science.

Dr. Safder has previously served and is currently serving on national committees for both the American Association of Endodontists and the American Dental Association, contributing to efforts to keep dental clinicians updated on essential information that enhances patient care.

Outside of work, Dr. Safder finds joy in spending time with his family, all of whom reside in Kansas. As the youngest of three, both of his siblings (and their significant others) are physicians at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Together, they take pride in serving their community. Dr. Safder enjoys reading and learning new languages; he is trilingual and proficient in English, Spanish, and Urdu. Additionally, he dabbles in tennis and pickle ball and is a devoted sports fan and is thrilled to be back in KC, so he can support his favorite team in person. Go Chiefs.
